Alpha and Omega. Oil painting, single figure composition. A male figure sleeps on a bed in a room with sunlight entering through the partially opened curtains. Through the window is a Yucca tree. The emphasis in the painting is on the movement of light, from the window to the chest of drawers to the soft indirect light on the figure. We see into the kitchen, towards the back of the painting on the left, where another female figure, in shorts is standing at the sink washing dishes. Portrait in a Landscape. Oil painting. Single figure composition. A young girl in a red satiny bathing suit sits on a bed that is outside in a landscape. Sunset Pacific Motel. Oil painting. Plein air painting of the Sunset Pacific Motel on Sunset Boulevard and the corner of Bates Avenue, in East Hollywood, CA. The motel, which was still operating when the image was painted, sits on the side of a row of tall lanky Washingtonia palms, with the large metal post of a billboard flanking its right edge.
